Pre-ordering
Pre-ordering on metal.club isn’t just paying early — on a well-run campaign the record arrives in pieces before release day, and you’re the first to hear each one.
What a pre-order is
When a band opens pre-orders on an upcoming release, you can buy it before it’s out. A page in this state shows “Pre-order” with live Buy controls (and you’ll see the “Pre-order” tag on records in the main grids). Digital pre-orders are paid at checkout, like any purchase.
What you get now
The record goes into your collection immediately — you own it. What you can play and download right away is whatever the band has revealed early: any track with a preview date that has already passed. The rest unlocks on the release date. For a physical pre-order, the item ships on or around the date the band sets.
The album unfolds
If the band is running a staggered campaign, tracks unlock in your collection one at a time as their preview dates arrive — and you get notified each time a new one starts streaming. On release day the whole record unlocks and you get a heads-up that your full album is ready. It’s an album that arrives over weeks instead of all at once, and you’re on the inside of it for backing it early.
Pre-save vs pre-order
If a release is coming but pre-orders aren’t open yet, you’ll see Pre-save instead — a free way to say “tell me when this is out”. You’re notified the moment it releases (and if the band runs early track reveals, you’re in on those too). A pre-save costs nothing; a pre-order is a purchase.
