Managing your roster
A label account manages several artists from one login. How much you can do for each one depends on the relationship — and that line is deliberate, so an independent band never loses control of its own page. Here’s how it works today.
The label account
Sign up as a Label. You get your own label page and a dashboard with a Roster tab. For selling and fees, a label works exactly like an artist — see Getting paid.
Managed vs independent
Your roster has two kinds of artist, and each is badged clearly:
Managed
An artist profile your label owns and runs — legacy catalogue, or acts who aren’t hands-on with the platform. You create these profiles and manage everything for them.
Independent
An artist with their own account who is linked to your label. They keep full control of their own profile and releases; the link makes the label relationship visible. Artists can request to link to your label.
Important
Acting on behalf
For a managed artist, hit “Manage releases” in your roster. This switches your dashboard into that artist’s context — you’re now acting as them. In that context you can:
- — Upload and edit their releases (including pre-orders and Drop Rooms)
- — Edit their artist profile
- — Generate promo & press codes for their records
- — Handle their orders and fulfilment
Everything you create in that context is attributed to the artist, not the label. Switch back out to return to your own label dashboard.
Your catalogue
Deep catalogues are where the Vault earns its keep: stand up an anniversary event on a sold-out record, let fans register that they want it back, and use that demand to decide on a repress — without guessing. Full detail in Vaults & Drop Rooms.
