Getting paid
How money moves on metal.club, in plain terms. This describes the system as it works today.
The platform fee
8% on sales — that’s the whole platform fee. There’s no listing fee and no monthly charge to sell. The detail is on the fees page.
A 0% free listing tier is extended to some accounts by invitation, at the platform’s discretion — it is not the standard rate, and not something you sign up for or request. If it has been extended to you, your account already reflects it and you don’t need to do anything. When a fixed-term arrangement ends, the account moves to the standard rate going forward; past sales are never recalculated.
Card processing fees
Card processing fees (charged by the payment processor) are passed through at cost — the platform doesn’t mark them up. Your storefront never displays the platform’s cut to fans.
Payouts
Payouts run through Stripe. You connect a Stripe payout account from the Payouts tab of your dashboard — this is required before a release can go live, since it’s how earnings reach your bank.
- — Stripe sets the payout schedule for your account, and holds each payment for a few days before it clears. Your Payouts tab shows both, read live from Stripe.
- — If Stripe retains a minimum balance on your account, the Payouts tab says how much and shows what your next payout would actually move.
- — Your available and pending balance are at the top of the Payouts tab, read live from Stripe.
- — For a list of individual payouts and the bank account each one landed in, use the Stripe dashboard link on that page — Stripe holds that record.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by the platform team on a case-by-case basis. If a fan needs a refund — a duplicate order, a physical item that never arrived — email contact@metal.club and we’ll sort it out.
