Importing your catalogue

Moving a back catalogue over one release at a time is slow. Import lets you bring the whole thing across in one pass — you provide the text, we turn it into editable drafts. Find it at Dashboard → Import.

Bring your catalogue across

Open your existing catalogue or discography page — wherever your releases are listed now — select all, and paste the text into the import box. Or upload a saved copy of the page as .html, a .csv, or a plain .txt tracklist. We read it right there in your browser and pull out the releases we find.

Note

We don’t fetch links. There’s no “import from URL” box — pasting a bare link won’t work. You bring the content; we never reach out to another site on your behalf. (Audio isn’t part of the import — you add that afterwards.)

What you get: editable drafts

Everything imported lands as drafts in your dashboard — titles, formats, and metadata pre-filled, nothing public yet. You go through them, attach audio, fix anything the parse got wrong, and publish when each one is ready. Nothing goes live until you say so.

Importing for an artist you manage

If you’re a label, import works on the artist you’re currently managing — pick them from your roster first, then import their catalogue. The drafts land in that artist’s account, attributed to them, exactly like the rest of the on-behalf tools. See Managing your roster.

Or let us do it — the concierge

Got a large catalogue and would rather not paste it yourself? On request, our team can bring a label’s releases across for you and drop the drafts straight into the right account. It’s a hands-on service for bigger onboarding jobs — email contact@metal.club and we’ll sort it out with you.
