AI Music Policy
metal.club does not host AI-generated music. This is not a technical restriction. It is a choice.
Why
metal.club is built for metal music made by people. The scene it serves is built on craft — bands who have spent years, sometimes decades, developing a sound. It is built on community formed around real artists and real records. It is built on the relationship between a fan and a band that has put genuine human intent, human performance, and human commitment into the music.
AI-generated music cannot replicate that relationship. Allowing it on this platform would devalue the work of every artist who has earned their place here. We are not interested in being neutral on that question.
What is not permitted
- Music generated by AI tools (Suno, Udio, MusicLM, or any equivalent)
- Music that is substantially AI-produced with minor human edits
- Music that is AI-performed or AI-composed with humans listed as performers or composers
What is permitted
The music itself — performance, composition, recording — must be human. The following uses of AI tools are acceptable:
- AI-assisted artwork generation (though human-created artwork is encouraged)
- AI mastering assistance as part of a human production process
- AI lyrics assistance as part of a human creative process
Enforcement
Every upload requires a mandatory declaration:
“I confirm this music was performed and recorded by me or my band.”
Any user can flag a release as potentially AI-generated. All flagged releases enter a moderation review. Outcomes for confirmed violations:
- First offence: immediate release removal and formal written warning
- Repeat offences: permanent account termination
How to report
Use the “Flag as AI-generated” button on any release page. We review all reports. Alternatively, email legal@metal.club with details.
